- Use a common database both on the vessels and the
  managing officer
- Reduce the numbers of "home made" spreadsheets
- Reduce the numbers of requests and e-mails to the vessel,
  just access it
- One fleet and one system, which is still flexible
- Access real time information anytime you need
- Access the same information from a remote location
  with your laptop
- See when your crew need re-certification
- See if your sub contracted crew have all necessary certificates
- See the utility of accommodation on any vessel in the fleet
- See vessels latest daily report, or choose a specific date
- See when each individual physically joined the vessel

Philosophy:
During the development process we involved both the shore side and the vessel side to find the governing idea. The governing idea is about revealing the common information and needs, and put it into a user friendly platform for both ship and shore. The platform to be flexible to capture both company and vessel specific needs. The governing idea is to reveal how the information exchange can be made easier for both parts. There most be a reward for putting information into a database, the reward is the time you will save later when you can recall the data and it is displayed in a logic system. The reward is that you can generate lists with the ease of a click, which took you hours before.
Why did we start at the vessel end?
We have found out by gathering the information at the vessel side we ends up with the most correct information. Vessel nowadays is a complex business involving personnel from various companies and locations, and to secure correct information it needs to be gathered or checked when each individual entering the vessel. At a port state inspection, the inspector will detain the vessel from sailing in respective to lack of certifications, regardless of who is responsible for the person.

We did realize that many of the subcontractor’s personnel had not been pre-checked prior to embarking the vessel. It is a hectic business and many of the individual’s pre announced to embark the vessel was changed out in the last minute. By gathering or checking the information when individuals physically embarking, you can be secure the information is correct.

What will Fleetadmin mean to you?
You will always have the correct and latest information concerning the vessels crew, supernumeous and passengers. You will be sitting on the same information as the vessel master, and in a case of an emergency you can tell right away who is on board, what company their employed with and next of kin details. You can see the certificate status of all personnel onboard and detect who needs re-training, or in worst case, who should never been onboard due to lack of certification. You can have the daily reports displayed throughout the fleet with the ease of a click. You will not need to be importunate to receive the relevant information from the vessel, as it will be exchanged automatically.
